ARE YOU A FEMINIST?

What is Feminism?
Feminism is a range of political movements, ideologies and social movements that share a common goal: To define, establish and achieve political, economic, personal and social equality of sexes.

Who is a Feminist?
To be simply put, a feminist is someone who believes in the political, economic, personal and social equality of sexes.

These days, in our society feminism has been defined as everything except what it really is and just to clear the doubt...
Being a feminist doesn’t mean you shouldn’t put on makeup, it’s putting on make up not for anyone but yourself.
Being a feminist doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t get married, it means getting married not because of pressure ( from your family, the society etc) but because you’re ready and you want to.
Being a feminist means having kids not because of pressure but because you’re ready and you want to.

Feminism is basically giving everyone equal opportunities regardless of their gender.

Many males tend to hate this particular F-word.
Being a feminist doesn’t make you any less of a man.
Be honest, if you know she’s a lot more qualified for the job or task than you are then speak up!!
Not every man is mature and being man who can’t put up with a successful woman is so not attractive.

What happened to the “two heads are better than one” logic?
Don’t let her give up her dreams and ambitions just to be with you, instead you should support and encourage her
If y’all go out and she takes care of the bills, that doesn’t make you any less of a man.
These days, every man wants a woman who makes her own “dough”.
I mean, we all have/ had mothers who looked like superwoman sometimes. You really should stop under estimating her, whoever she may be.

I believe this world would be much more beautiful if everyone had equal rights.

A QUICK FEMINISM TEST
• Are you a supporter of equal rights for the sexes?
• Are you offended when you’re not given an opportunity because of your gender?
• Do you prefer to be recognised for your talents and potentials and not just your looks?
• Do you often wonder why men are still being paid more than women
• What makes you mad or agitated when you read about men, women and equality?
• Is the idea of getting married in your 20’s desirable? ( exclude all the pressure)

I’d allow you rate yourself 😏😏

SAIL!

I'm sitting on the floor in my bathroom, this is the first time I've been inspired to write in months and like you'd guess, I'm inspired by blinding pain. All my life, since I can fucking remember, I've wondered why some certain people treat me a certain type of way. For years, I couldn't get answers so I tried to fix something I didn't have a clue about. At 20, I'm here wondering if all the soul searching, quest for answers, zeal to breakthrough and all I had to go through were necessary. I'm surrounded by lies! Lies everywhere! I've beat myself up for so many years for what wasn't my fault and while I'm relieved I wasn't at fault, I'm utterly bewildered. After all these years, the people I've fought to protect have been lying to me. I don't know how to feel and I know this doesn't make any sense but I'm this close to losing it. This close.

THOUGHT SOMEONE MIGHT NEED THIS πŸ’šπŸ’š

You will never have anything figured out and it might sound harsh but thats how bitter truth is. Don't beat yourself up when things don't go as planned cause that's when things get interesting--- being able to survive it all but really what do we have to lose? We'd all die anyway. You'd not know until you stare death in the face that now is all you have. Maybe when you understand that life is a journey and not a race... but answer honestly, what do you really want? Thinking out loud... I really don't know who needs to hear this but, Live, love, laugh .

LETS TALK ABOUT SEX

In Nigeria and even all around Africa, the topic, SEX  is more or less ignored and this has a terrible effect on the young ones as they grow up because talking about sex with your kids, helps them understand more about sex and from a reliable source.  You’d agree with me that there’s a lot of lies about sex and leaving the younger ones to learn the hard way is not the best way. So, my next posts would treat the topic of sex and everything associated with it from the youngster’s point of view. We’d be talking about sexual assaults, rape, molestation and everything sex. First of all, is there really a right time to start talking to your kids about sex? If yes, when is the right time?
